I drove P2 to work two days this week. The new tranny works great. People walk up all the time wanting to talk about it. I got my right foot hung in some wire before daylight on Thursday and now the radio doesn't work. Yeah, this Jeep is special but it has stuff still needs to be fixed and probably always will. 8-}
What are you going to fix that "right foot" ? %-(

Well... I started with putting nice inspection pan on the transmission bell. Then I checked the engine, transmission and QT for leaks. A little seep on the low range shifter, not enough to affect the right foot. Then worked my way into the heater and got stuck in the squirrel cage. :-? Now I've got something a little more pressing to deal with.

Catching up on the P2. The heater box and new thermostat has been in for a while and blows nice hot air. Still have an issue with getting air to the defroster. The radio is wired back up. That was all last month...

This month she needed an AC clutch but instead I swapped in the compressor from Wally and tossed in the new fan clutch with straight fan while I was at it yesterday. Today we got the new tailgate door seal and upper window seal installed. The window is buggared up and does not go up all the way on the right so we have door seal in the top to help keep the dust boogies out. I got the spare back on top and installed a new air cleaner with renewable filter. This morning I got the purple hornies removed and had a generic set of turbo mufllers put on. Much quieter! We should be close to loading up for the End of the World Thanksgiving in the Desert Run. :-bd

Do you need a clutch for the other compressor. I have a couple extra here that I can bring
to the get together you can have.

Yes we do Jerry. If you have room to pack one for this weekend, your help is much appreciated.

The square end of the speedo cable that goes into the QT is rounded off. I stole the inner cable from the 76 Wag so we now have a working speedo.

Now looking for a good inner cable with good square tips that fits a 74-79 FSJ (with QT). This is the cable is between the cruise control box and the QT. Do not need the outer flex tube.

Thanks

Thanks for the speedo cable Mari! :-bd I am looking for another tail light lens. :(

An update... The power lead for the fuel pump came apart and left Krista on the side of the road Tuesday. Wire Nut? When I fixed it, I saw some things on the fuse panel that clicked in my head yesterday. The radio was connected to a engine on blade and the fuel pump was connected to a power on/accessory blade marked radio. DOH! We have not been able to play the radio with key turned to accessory but the fuel pump would run. Before I drove P2 home from work, I swapped those two connections and now we have radio on accessory. It is the little things in life sometimes...

Been driving it this winter. Got coolant leaks in lower radiator tank and around TC cover. I thought it was the T-stat cover leaking and tightened it down some but it is still pooling on top TC cover. Loses about 1/2 gallon every 2-3 weeks. Waiting for the new radiator to arrive before we tear into it. May need to reseal TC cover <yuk>. Going to also rejet the TA 670 and work on the choke. Looks like the weather is going to be kind enough to do Jeep work this weekend.

It's too cold to paint, LOL... Black is just fine. 8-) The fan has been black since I stole it off Wally for the AZ trip. Phoebe's purple fan had a bent blade from the accident.

Purple radiator is out. The AC condenser frame was bent and a mounting bolt rubbed a hole in one of the tubes. :banghead: Took my 2# hammer and smacked it good a few times. All Bueno. Radiator also has a stress crack in the lower right corner and leaking there too. No dang idea how that could have happened. :roll: Turns out the thermostat gasket was leaking and not the TC cover. :-bd Going to replace the road side repair Ralph and Casey did on the tranny cooler line from 3 years ago while coming home from Ouray finally. Getting ready to put it back together.
