That looks really surprisingly good! :-bd
Do you think it would be durable enough to use on the tops of the doors where your arm rests while hanging out the window? How about on the dash? I like having all the wood grain match.

I think so. I'll going to try it. My door wood grain is cracked at each of the rivets. I'll let you know how it works. The worse that can happen is I have to take it off and put the old stuff back on.

Not a lot done this week. Just messing around while I wait for parts from TGW.

Trimmed out the overhead console.

Put the window trim back on. Used the original screws but added finishing washers. Then added some chrome trim to fill the gab between the trim and the woodgrain.

Wow, what a beautiful vehicle. I really like the wood grain in the back idea! And that little chrome strip... where'd you source that? The attention to detail really shows. I can only hope to pull off a restoration like you're doing one day.

I am also surprised at how nice that looks and would like more detail on the chrome strip. I am leaning toward dewooding my interior but tying it all together a little better may be the answer, especially with the late-model dash and its limitations..

Great idea, thanks for sharing.

Today's progress. Got the inside insulated. Still have to do the doors, but it'll be attached to the inside of the panel, not the door itself.

Carpet installed up front. That backing on the new carpet is a PITA to cut through.

Got the cargo area carpet test fitted. Working on polishing the cargo strips now. Anybody know how to get that crease out of the middle? I tried an iron but that didn't work.

Got the center armrest console disassembled, recolored and reupholstered. Perfect match on the color. Now I need to figure out the A/C and replace one of the cigarette lighters before I put it back together. What do you think? I love it.

Are you going to try to make that console functional for the rear with air and heat?

This weekend I got the center armrest console completed except for the cover plate. Finished up the overhead console. Installed the front area headliner.

Now I've got rear air and two additional power outlets.:drivin: :fsj:

Nicely done, I'm interested in how the transition from the center console to the dash is going to turn out.

Where are those little chrome strips from?

What insulation did you go with for the inside? And how much of it did you order?

Did you tie the center console rear vents into the lower heat vent in front of where the console is? Did it replace that front existing vent or did you leave it and tie into it?
