??? Anyone used adapter fitting on steering gear from fractional flared lines to metric o ring's on the box ???

No, but I'm very interested in how you do it. I have a friend who owns a hydraulic shop. I assumed he would be able to make custom lines for me when I start copying you with the whole om617 thing.

Found these after buying 6an fittings.

classic performance part number for adapters to fit flared lines to metric o ring box.

605sol.
2 piece set.

18mmx1.5 o ring to 11/16 flare
16mmx1.5 o ring to 5/8 flare

I wound up using a combination of both fitting,

I used 18mmx1.5 o-ring to an-6 on the pressure side
And 16mmx1.5 o-ring to 5/8 flare on return.

My pressure line flared end wasn't mating well with the o-ring/flare adapter,
Luckily I had Some an-6 line that I cut to length and pressed on 90* 5/8 flare(mercedes pump) to.
I'll get it fired up tonight, bleed the system and check for leaks. Fingers crossed.

The new box is awesome though, even with a steady pressure leak I was able to turn lock to lock with one finger sitting in the driveway.

Have you started the motor back up yet since the oil dump? I would think it's fine, that motor would probably run for days with no oil at all...not that anyone should try to prove that or anything

I've run it.
At like 115 degrees out last week and the temp were a bit high for my liking. So...
I put new oil cooler and I'm waiting on the radiator at the moment.
She drives wonderfully though, steers like a dream with the new gear box.
This things has loads of top end power, cruising in 4th push the pedal down and the turbo pulls like crazy. But like I said it was hot out all last week and I didn't want to push it. I don't think my fuel milage is all that great either. Could be from lots of idling with high (rpm) idle while getting everything sorted out.
The alda is adjusted all the way in/out? So hopefully there's an adjustment for that.
I think it's supposed to only be adjusted for idle and respond to throttle vacuum. But I haven't fiddled with that yet. If I get the radiator sorted out I'll focus more on tuning.

Been doing a lot of family time so the wagon been on the back burner for a while,
should be up and running again shortly.
still need to make a shroud when I get the fans but I did mange to make a
Hose extension pipe to keep everything out of the pulleys, haven't had any success posting pics with this phone so I linked a video of the pipe in place- still no clamps as I'm going to have to pull the hoses (top at least) to get the fans/shroud in.

She's running really well now, temps are under control. Only complaint is final drive gearing seems a little low, high/ish rpms at cruising.
Don't have a tachometer but sounds higher than I'd like. Performance is good however.

In an effort to bring the rpms down at cruising I bumped up the tire size, just a little to see if it improves any. It's free to try as these are off my flat fender so long as it doesn't cost me a fender or quarter panel in the event of a flat/blow out, these tires areally pretty much junk but they are bigger. Just a bit.

Love it. Keep posting. I once asked the Great Google in the sky for a drive ratio calculator and one was revealed to me. Easy to figure out what your final drive will be by plugging in your tire size, axle ratio and transmission ratio. Wish I could figure out how to post a link.

So, where is the power curve on the diesel? At what RPM is it happiest and pulls well. My understanding is that finding the right gear ration is very important. What do you think in regard to perormance and then High Way cruizing?
