I wanted quite a bit of lift and to ditch the stock post mounts, so I scavenged junk yards for my springs... until I found the stance I wanted and mocked up the new mounts. If I remember, I ended up with Chevy 85 blazer front springs and long 1/2 ton Suburban rears. After I get it going down the road and get the resto complete and weighed front and rear, then I will get some custom made springs with military wraps, maybe.
It is a bit of a chicken and the egg, as you want to know your weight front and rear before you get springs, and you dont always know that until you get your build done as many things are still up in the air.
It's all up in the air right now. For the most part going foward I just wanted to upgrade my rear 44 to 1 piece flanged, which I've got but it's 6 bolt wheels. So I got a chevy 44 front 6 bolt, so at this point my options are wide open. So I just need to decide how I want to spend my money.... and what not to spend money on if it's just gonna get replaced.
I really didn't want to change too much, but I've already changed so much.
Don't really won't a rockcrawler,
Just a trail rig that won't break.
