83 Wagoneer Overland Build

Post by aaron6484 »

Just picked up this 83 Wagoneer for $100! Lifted (not sure how much) on 32s. Runs and drives but it has a cracked engine block. I have a guy selling me a running 360 for $250 for me to put in next week! More pics as coming as I get stuff done! ImageImageImage

Looks to be about a 4" lift.
Nice find!
Did you pay extra for the fungus?

Us old timers refer to the fungus as 'Patina'.
I wish you well Sir.

I hear an Extraction Story building.. How hard was it to retrieve? I always Bug Bomb during the extraction and again before I start working on it. ;)

It actually hasn't been too bad this far. It had been completely run out of gas so getting it to start took a bit. A few backfires, one guys shirt got completely burnt. We used a funnel and a line to put gas directly into the carb because the fuel pump wasn't working. I had to run along side the car pouring gas in a funnel while we drove it over

Proper! My folding chairs and green cooler don't qualify me as proper?

I do pretty good for a poser, who else had done a two week 3000 mile trip in their FSJ?

Go look on expeditionportal.com for a proper Overlander rig.

I guess I wish I hadn't said overland. It will be more like a PNW specific exploring vehicle. I am taking a lot of ideas from proper over landers and putting them in a bigger wheeling platform.

After an hour with the pressure washer the outside doesn't look so bad! The inside however... Well I didn't take any pictures yet for a reason. ImageImage
