Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2

It was done by LS1 Swap Shop in Coweta, Okla. His number is 918-210-3195. He did the wiring harness and programming for $400. He also did some extra pins for the tow/haul mode, a wire for when in 4 low so the tranny shifts correctly and also changed it so I splice my TCC wire into the brake light switch, making it so I don't have to get a different switch for the TCC to function when the brakes are applied.

I can't remember the year range, I am wanting to say late 90's to early 2000's. I got it on eBay and I think it was from a 2500 series GM truck iirc.

Thanks, me too!

I don't have a very good heat source in my father-in-laws shop, plus the shop is big enough to park 6 or 7 greyhound busses in, so the cold weather is really killing me. I have a stove I made out of stacked 55 gal drums, which puts out great heat, but the area is just too big for the stove to keep up with.

"Alice"-'89 Grand Wag build & LS 5.3L swap

Post by XJChad »

As things go, I decided to pull the heads on the 5.3L and put new lifters in to be on the safe side. So I decided to go a head and install new valve stem seals and cleaned the heads up a little. No porting or polishing, just knocking out the carbon build up and reassembled.
Got the new lifters in and heads back on today with new torque to yield bolts...

They do, but they are rare. Look for white GMC's with vinyl floors.

Ok, not rare, but definitely fewer built with manual transfer cases than the electric ones. I might actually have access to one....

They had them until the 07 mid-year split like the one chad has. The newer body style with manual tcase is even funkier.

I was looking at trucks on craigslist and saw a base model 2008 Chevy 2500 with manual crank windows and manual shift transfer case. The floor shifter was more of a straight slender knob, and the console around it was more squared off, but I think it would work well also if you could find one from a donor truck.

When I found mine I was searching ebay for "shifter console" & "transfercase shifter", and then just looked through them and found one I liked... I also looked at shifters for the Dodge Durango's, and the older 80's model Suburbans.

I just looked at ebay, here is a link to one just like mine. This is the same vendor I purchased mine through. It is for 2001-2006 models non HD.

I havent updated this in quite a while. I'm still slowly working on it as I have time.
I have the np241 tcase installed after I rebuilt it and shift linkage finished. I also ran the fuel lines, mounted the radiator & hoses, coolant overflow tank, tranny lines and 95% of the wiring. The motor will turn over, but I havent fired it up yet as I have been trying to decide how to go about modifying the fuel filler neck. I ended up using the stock GW neck and got a 1" to 2" copper adapter/reducer to connect to the S10 Blazer tank.

I was also stumped with how to go about activating the 4x4 low signal for the PCM, as I really didnt want to put it on a ground switch. What i am working on now is using a brake light switch mounted under the tcase shifter console with a pin sticking out from the shifter that pushed the brake switch when shifted into 4low. This will close the loop and ground the wire to the pcm. I will try to get better pics tomorrow.

If your speed sensor is between the transmission and the transfer case, there is no need to tell the PCM when it is in low. Just an FYI if it's helpful.

Its not. My set up is a 4x4 tranny that had a np246 mated to it originally, so I sold it to go with a np241, the sensor is in the tailshaft of the tcase.

This is what I have come up with for a 4 low switch. I welded a net to the shifter and threaded a bolt in to give me some adjustability. The brake switch is from a mid 80s Chevy pickup. The 4low wire goes to one pole and the other is grounded. The button is pressed when shifted to 4low, grounds the wire which sends the signal. I used a rubber covered hose clamp to hold it in place and it is solid.

I think it will work out just fine, plus it is all hidden under the cover for the tcase shifter.

Starting to get everything wrapped up and in place. I'm still not certain on the air intake and filter location, but for now with the hood off this is where I am running it.

I still have to get exhaust made, wire the electric fan, and finish plumbing the hydroboost.

I dropped off my driveshafts in Tulsa Friday, which they should be done by Monday afternoon. They are cutting down a rear shaft I had and building me a new cv shaft for the front.

I still have to figure out what to do for gauges/instrument cluster. I'm leaning towards the Dakota Digital for ease of set up, but I am also thinking about an Edge Products CTS2 programmer. It will give me speedo, tach, oil pressure and engine temp, plus others. But I just dont like the idea of having that monitor pod mounted on the dash.
