Full Size Blazer 25 gallon gas tank

Post by ClovisMan »

Who is running one? I would like to see how you got it to work. I've found mucho threads on the little S10 tank but none on the Full-Size Blazer. I got one for free when the dude downgraded or upgraded (however you see it) to propane. It is the TBI tank with internal fuel pump, but I'm gonna pull it out and replace with tubing so I can run my external Carter pump.

Anyone able to mate the Jeep sender to the GM pickup?

I used a s10 tank it was the 20 gal one. Diff of 5 gal.
The only reason I didn't go bigger was due to the depth of the tank. Want clearance for departure angle.

I understand the thought of 25 gallons and 'free' is tempting, but I did the S-10 one as well and for the same reason. The S-10 tank is really as low as you want to be if you go off-roading at all. I have done some pretty radical wheeling with mine, with no problems yet, but it has been VERY close. It would have hit for sure, with the deeper tank. Just food for thought.

I have a 30 gallon Blazer tank in a '90 Grand Wag. I took the mounting plate off an old Wag sending unit and soldered it onto the GM pickup
tube. It took some fiddling around to get the plate in the right place and soome rebending of the float mount "rod' but it works probably as well as it did in the stock tank. I measured the depth of the tank, wired the sender to the gauge and moved things avoutn until I got what I wanted.

My tank has the fill pipe etc. in the top so I had to strap the tank down away from the floor as well us up.

If you are still working on this and need more let me know.

I've been dreaming about the 30 gal Bronco tank every since I saw the River Beast many years ago. Man, I wish that page was still available.
