E-brake adjust with lift.

Post by rstep »

On may 77 cherokee was able to fab up some longer c-bar that contects the front cable (mount to each side)to the rear hard cable.
Used a piece of 3/16 flat bar 16" x 1.250.Drilled some holes abit bigger then the swedges on the cable, then notched a slot for the cable and slid in.They have been on for 3 years with no issue.Beats replacing cable.

Ahhh. This prevents having to replace cable from the brake drums forward then?

But if I understand what you did, it doesn't do anything for the hard mount where the sleeved cable sheath mounts to the frame? I had to relocate the brkts on mine to put enuf slack in the cable. Am I missing something here? :-??

Correct,I had enough slack in the back.I did loosen everything up and let the rear axle go to full drop so it may have pulled the cable back some before I put the c-bracket in.
