Suspension mod questions

I have probably asked this in the past but I am debating on going spring-under-frame like the later models. Currently I am post mount with a 4" lift. If I swapped later model springs up front and got 4" lift springs would I be able to go SUA and maintain my ride height since the springs are lower on the frame or do I need a SOA setup as well? If I keep the rear lift springs I would only need to change the front setup, correct? If I swapped to the later style mounting I would want to bolt the new diff in as SUA like it was intended

If you switched to the 74+ front spring setup, with 4" springs, your height should be close to the same. Hard to say for sure as the stock height changed, meaning the lift amount may be different between them.

An SOA with the 74+ spring mounts gives you more like 6-7" of lift. So SUA would be the way to go, you just need different springs than what you have now, which I am sure you are aware of.

Yeah I have 2" wide now and need the 2.5" wide. The 2" perches are welded on the top of the new diff already for SOA. I am going to bolt it up to the 2" when it is done and see how it is for a while until I get the money for the 2.5 wide springs and change it up to SUA. All of this work because of that death wobble problem I have that I never could find the cause of. I wanted to go 3/4ton anyways. If it still has it after I bolt this diff in, then it HAS to be the suspension because that will be the only thing left between the frame and ground. And this is getting a high steer passenger side knuckle as well to be sure steering geometry is good.
