After excessive contemplation I decided I am going to move the front springs under the frame on my J2000 like the later J10/J20 trucks when I swap in my J20 D44 front diff and go with 2.5" wide springs. My question for those have done this is what are the measurements for the mounts, front of the frame to the rearward mount? Or should I get the springs first and go from there? I want to be sure the front end sits true and doesn't give me any dog tracking issues or alignment problems. What issues did you run into during the conversion? I plan on running stock springs and going with SUA like a stock J20 would have been instead of SOA and post mount like I currently have. Whatever I need to acquire to do this correctly I will get. No rush, I have time still since I am just starting the process of setting up the R&P this week and the diff is nowhere near ready to go under. Also, are the spring brackets for the frame on the market or will I need to fab my own?
If the new springs are same length could you just transfer the post length vertically to the new perches below the frame? And narrow axle perch width .

Going with 2.5 wide springs. Thought of getting the same length springs as I have but 2.5 wide, whatever year has those, and using my posts as a starting point for measuring. The only springs I have to go off of are the ones in the truck currently which won't work for what I am doing. I am toying with using a 2" lift spring, i don't want a tire bigger than 33 tall
I am not too concerned with brackets, I could make them if I had to. My main concern is placement. I want ZERO issues after this money pit project is done. I have sank so much money into this truck and I don't even enjoy it anymore. I will never part with it but I want to get the suspension right this time. Its the last time I am doing this kind of sh!t on this thing. Most likely I am overthinking everything, I tend to do that. I would feel better having a later model truck sitting here to take measurements from when I go to weld brackets on though
