So lucky me I have a 74 which has the odd ball short front springs that I think are right around 45”. The springs I currently have are pretty much flat. I found these and I’m pretty sure they are the correct fit. I was just wondering what the stock arch was and what the stock spring weight rating was.? Thanks https://www.truckspring.com/leaf-spring ... rings.aspx
Isn't '74 the changeover year where the rears are the earlier post mount type and the fronts are the later design? The parts book shows a unique part number for the '74 fronts, but instructs you to order the springs for a '76 and separate bushings. So I expect the bushings will be wrong, but the spring length, width and arch will be the same as '76 and later. What's the model (J20 I presume) and GVWR rating? Matters. '74 has a 2-leaf light and a 2-leaf heavy, which both are replaced by the 2-leaf heavy for 1976.
Your link points to a generic sizing diagram for leaf springs, not a specific spring.

So from what I’m seeing, the front springs are all pretty much the 22 1/2 X 24 1/2 all the way up into the vehicles past 1976. It’s the rear springs that change with the different years and different wheel bases.
So in theory if you already had plans to do away with the post style spring hanger and replace it with a more modern spring hanger. Then You could order a full lift kit for a 76+ rig and just weld in the spring hangers in the correct location to center up my axle.
Or am I missing something
