Hey everybody,

I've been searching but haven't had much luck in finding my answers. I'm in the process of upgrading my front brakes to disc on my '68 Gladiator. It had drum brakes front and rear, with a manual brake master.
What I'm trying to figure out is, what brake booster, and master cylinder I can use that will be as close to direct fit (firewall/pedal fit) as I can find. I haven't had much luck in finding concrete evidence of what booster/master combo will fit nicely, so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
- Nick

I used the firewall adaptor and brackets from an early 70s wagoneer. Those were a direct bolt on to existing holes in the firewall. I have an aftermarket booster that was advertised for a cj but it fit the fsj brackets perfectly as well.

So I figured I'd do a follow up post in case this can help someone else. I had the brake booster and master from a 78 Chero Chief laying around, measured up the pattern, found out only 2 holes needed to be drilled (top and bottom mounting holes) and it fit right in. One other dilemma that was dealt with was the different length rod from 1 master to another, so I measured the distance of what was needed, cut the needed length off my original (the original rod also had a larger mounting hole where it fit onto the brake pedal post) and welded it to the cut rod on the Chero booster. Worked like a charm and now I've got boosted brakes on the cheap!
