fulsizjeep wrote:Well, I finally fiddled with this fuel issue today. After removing any possible restrictions and seeing 8psi on the gauge at the carb, I changed the fuel pump back to the old one. Problem solved. The new pump just does not have the volume to keep up. ~x( Also got the Truck Avenger installed with 57 mains and 68 secondaries. It is a little lean but runs well on the highway and rocky terrain on the hill out back. Might be getting this close now.

You are saying that the new pump had enough pressure, but not enough volume. Interesting. What pump was this, Carter XXXX.

It was in a NAPA box and pump has Carter on label. Federal Mogul warranty. We'll see what they say at the NAPA store in Durango.

This is the AutoZone generic pump I have been running a while. I have a spare of that same unit which is older and carry it on trips.

BTW, the AZ pump is pushing 3 psi compared to the NAPA 8 psi unit that does not get the job done. Haven't had time to go to Durango NAPA yet. The GW is getting almost daily driving. The old carb was doing 6.8 mpg after the pressurized fuel event. Before that it was getting 10. The TA got 7.8 the first 100 miles. A lot of that is wrapped up in tuning. Hoping the get back to at least 10-11. Sad huh?

Yeah volume is the more important number. Well, CFM @X PSI.
