Easy window regulator clip solution

Post by Phils67 »

I bet i have had my door panels off 100 times now. A few years ago i bought new clips for my window regulators from BJs and they always seem to pop off no matter how many times i ensure all 4 tabs click into place. Today was the last straw. A small drill bit, a 3/8 washer and a cotter pin later and i will NEVER have to fight those stupid clips ever again :-bd

This kind of stuff is designed for fast assembly on the line. Doesn't tolerate lots of assembly cycles well. In the day, the line mechanic could get a new clip from the parts dept. if the original clip was tired. Likely the repop stuff is not a perfect copy, or maybe a stock part that's deemed close enough.

Finding any repop as good as an original is rare. This seemed to work really well. I dub it a 75 cent upgrade worthy of the 2 minutes it takes

No question it will hold. Looks good. Definitely an upgrade from an owner's POV.
