NV4500 / NP208 - fit together and clocking?

I am going to use my Dodge gas NV4500 (23 spline output) with my Jeep NP208. I have read some places that they fit together with no issues. Some places say I need a spacer. Some say it won't be clocked correctly.

Can any of you who have actual first hand knowledge of the NV4500/NP208 combo clarify which is correct?

It will be ending up in a 76-83 wagoneer or 4 door cherokee running a drivers side drop D44 and 2" of lift (if that matters)

Thanks

I can't help with your NP208 T/C. PO swapped a NV4500 with a Dana 300 T/C in my Jeep. All the parts (adapters) to make the swap were purchased @ Advanced Adapters. Very nice package and I LOVE driving it! I would contact A/A if you have not done so already !!!!

I will be using the AA Dodge NV4500 to AMC bellhousing plate kit. I picked up a nice CJ T176 bellhousing with the fork and all the hardware while on my way to get the NV4500 donor over the weekend. This is going to end up behind a Mercedes OM606 turbo diesel with the new Mercedes4x4 adapter that is being released next month. I am going to assemble and test all the powertrain items in my workshop while searching for a decent waggy or cherokee to stuff them in.

I keep coming across conflicting info on whether the 23 spline 208 is a straight bolt up to the 4500 or not. I will find out first hand in a few weeks when I get time to pull the 4500 out of the donor but I figured I would ask here first as someone has probably already done it.

Did you swap in a hydraulic clutch setup? If so what did you use?

No, all factory manual clutch linkage, PO got 90% from his Jeep dealer. Works well, no issues and AMC built these the same way for so long, they are nearly bullet proof!! LOL!! Good luck on your project!!

Do you still have the original crossmember? If so what was done with it to work with the nv4500?

No, not the original crossmember, truck was converted from Auto/Quadra to Manual. It looks like a fabed up crossmember to me!! Contact Advanced Adapters!! That is where all the parts to make the set-up came from, except for the drives shafts!!! Rear was custom, front was not IFRC. Anyway worth the call to AA....
