I removed the factory amp and fader switch and I Installed this unit into my 81 Wagoneer. I wired the speaker wires under the dash into the supplied harness.
I have power but no sound. The factory radio I pulled out worked (and all is for sale if you want it).
I swapped the jeep's speakers out for a set of Bose speakers that also worked with the old factory radio.
Retrosound isn't too helpful. They said to check for a bad ground.
Also, when on radio, I don't get the little stereo indicator.
pull the voltmeter and check for power on your radio power circuit, a bad fuse or a disconnected wire, the wiring behind the dash is always a bit challenging, and wires can turn loose

What is the radio power circuit? I know I have a constant 12v & acc 12v running to the radio.

The feed is from the fuse panel, a wire ans a separate in-line fuse

I installed a Retrosound unit in my 1979 and had no issues wiring it up, great sound and YES, lots of options to be sure! It took me awhile to go thru the manual and change things to my taste and preferences! But it worked fine as soon a I hit the key! Like to see where this turns out to be too!!!

Well, sent the head unit off last week. Talked to them today and they said that the unit worked fine for them. They're going to send me a new harness thinking that might help.
Hopefully I'll have it back by the weekend and try again. Might just have it professionally installed if I can't get it to work.
