Nostalgic AC

Post by 81waggy »

Has anyone ever used this aftermarket AC system?

They said they could rebuild my factory heat controls to use with their system, but I'm a little skeptical. I've got an 81 Wagoneer and I'm debating going with a complete heat/def/ac system or just get my factory ac working. I like the look of the factory controls and don't want to swap them for some generic control panel like from oldair, vintage air or jeepair.

Oldairproducts said I can disassemble their controls and rebuild it but not sure about that.

If I go with an all in one unit, I can move the battery to where the heater box is on the firewall and install a cold air intake to feed my 350TBI.

Thoughts? Pictures?

I put a 86 dash in my 79 J10 and used the newer style control head for gen IV vintage air evap, see fasteddie restomod in the build section, the gen IV fits like it was made for FSJ's, a/c vents require some creativity, control head needs to modified using vintage air 66 gto control kit (for the blower switch) and will need another control head to cut up for the lever to use VA cable convertors
