When going w a TFI upgrade does the timing need to be changed at all or is it just install and go?

Timing should not need to be changed. But you will want to increase the gap on your plugs.

Thanks Stuka.
Since I'm dropping off my truck at the mechanic tomorrow am, would I be okay to do the tfi after the intake, carb, cam kit are installed? or should I have it done at the same time? Can I keep the same plugs already in it? Or get new ones?
They were put in in June and I have only put 1000 miles since then.

When I did TFI on the waggy, I didn't touch the timing. I didn't even re-gap the plugs and drove with the small gap for a few days.

Like Blake said, you can leave that all as is. You will just get a more noticeable gain by gapping the plugs larger. And it can wait until afterwards.

It never hurts to do a full vacuum tune to set the timing just right. It's not absolutely necessary but I always recommend it.

If you can't fix it with a hammer or duct tape you have an electrical problem.
