So I did an engine swap to a an 88 engine the had an egr delete and had a non vacuum advanced distributor. I didn't connect the vacuum to anything and I just read in another thread that the heat is vacuum actuated. I figured I would have to do something with the 4x4 switch too. The new engine runs fine but everything stalled with relocating my family and new job and house and life blah blah blah... I want to get the heat and especially the AC running since I'm in texas now. I have some exhaust work to but that I have in hand.
anyone want to help with what I will need to run vacuum hoses too, and what was the obsession with the intake vacuum in the 80s to run so many things?

I thought I misplaced a power lead to the system but it sounds more like this is the reason the heat does nothing. I had a buddy working with me on the engine swap and he probably disconnected it and since the swap took 6 months, with the abundance of free time adult life offers, he forgot about it by the time hook up came around again.
