Bulhead fitting?

Post by ProTouring442 »

I am looking to run the wiring for my overhead lights...

What sort of sealable fitting do people typically use? Obviously, it will need to be able to take wire large enough to feed the lights. Anyone know where I can purchase such a thing?

Thanks!
Bill

Not really sure what you're looking for exactly, when I hear bulkhead fitting I automatically go to hydraulic fittings. but maybe these ideas.

Something like this is good for firewall pass through:

And I like the Weather Pack connectors for the union ends.

And if I can get the correct ID general purpose rubber grommets work well and are easy to find. But you don't always get the best seal.

If you're looking at pushing a bunch of wires through the firewall, the above grommet is good.

If you're looking at running one large (8 gauge or thicker) power wire through and then branch off once you're inside the cab, this is what I would recommend:

A little RTV around the edge when you install it and it's completely water proof. It'll handle a fair amount of current.

If you can't fix it with a hammer or duct tape you have an electrical problem.
