Looks like you photo's did the same thing mine did. Had to do away with the IMG tag so the links would work.berettajeep wrote:This is what is in my '74 Cherokee.
Are my photos not showing up? They are working for me.ghcoe wrote:Looks like you photo's did the same thing mine did. Had to do away with the IMG tag so the links would work.berettajeep wrote:This is what is in my '74 Cherokee.
Checked both browsers and I see a "x" on one and "image" on the other.berettajeep wrote:Are my photos not showing up? They are working for me.

Thanks this is a big help
The main feed to the engine from both my tanks goes directly to a 3 way ( 2 in and 1 out) valve on the drivers side floor board, I choose which tank to draw from.
This valve was included with my tank. I don't think I am going to use it though because I am going to run two electric pumps. One pump for each tank switched by a "on","off","on" toggle. I will use a T fitting in the supply fuel line and add one way inline fuel valves to keep fuel from flowing from one tank to the other depending on which pump is operating.
I was told that the return line from the carb still just returned back to the original tank, which would always keep filling that thank no matter which tank you were pumping from. So I assume that the auxiliary tank would become the main tank and the original would be the reserve tank. if it worked that way. I would think this could be why it could be hard to fill (Jeeps from this era are hard to fill anyway). Trying to make that turn in the T fitting would be difficult I would think. I might try to run the fuel return line to the Aux tank and flip the idea around. Then it would flow, like normal, into the original tank when filling at the station. Worth experimenting with.
Mine is a pain in the butt. Takes a long time to fill. Since Oregon does not trust people to fill their own vehicles ( ) I have to tell the attendants use the slowest setting ( Since they all walk away) or just use a pen, dog biscuit ( Yep, they do!) and let it trickle in.
I just read where some counties, under 40,000, in Oregon will allow people to pump their own gas... https://jalopnik.com/join-america-in-la ... socialflow
I need to find new rubber hoses for mine too.

I did grab another filler neck from a '78 Cherokee Chief. It is metal, where my '74 was plastic. One day I'll add it so I can fill each tank separately.
I have one too. I just don't want to cut holes in the side of my jeep. Besides if not done right I think it look terrible.
As luck would have it I removed my interior tire carrier yesterday to cleanup and add bolts to hold it rather then small screws. Snapped this photo showing how mine is set up.
Lucky me... I was wondering how they ran the vent line. I thought under the body to where it goes into the main tank. Not much room there. This makes a lot more sense. Thanks for taking the time to take and post up these pictures. George.
