I had a another source tell me wires for a 1976 Buick 455 work.

This is what I am looking at using:

I've used these https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g826/overview/ and they work fine. No complaints.

If a pre-made set will work, I would just buy Standard. They have a set for a Buick with silicone wire and OEM boots, and a premium set that's a step up somehow. Since it's for HEI, there's no coil wire.

I use wires for a Buick 350 in my Cherokee. They mostly worked, as I recall two of them were a bit tighter than I wanted.

I'd think that the outside dimensions of a 455 would be a bit larger, and if the 350 set is tight, maybe a better fit.

I have also heard Buick 350 wires are close but a couple are tight. I imagine 425 Caddy spec may work too.

Make sure to get straight boots for the spark plug ends. The 90's hit the exhaust manifolds.

I used wires for a ford from summit
ford racing wire M12259-C460
one wire is a bit longer, these are 135 spark boots for the large cap distributor

I learned don't use accel build your own.

Msd 8.5 much better quality and the plug end custom bend whatever way you want.

was checking a misfire.... got zapped on cyl #5... I guess Taylor blue is not my next purchase... will check Flint's recommendation... unless ... straight boots for 5 and 3 angled at 45/135 seems like a better fit for our V8.
Edit: rechecked installation date, it was 6 years and 20Kmiles ago... not too bad... as wires are really getting cooked under the hood.

Thank you Flint, I installed one of the old MSD wire, it snaps better than the taylor on the HEI terminal, and it still has low resistance, I had to change the MSD set because some of the wires got rubbed the wrong way and lost insulation and a couple were cooked by the exhaust leaks.

With OEM exhaust manifolds you will need 45* or straight plug boots. The 90* boots will contact the manifolds and burn.

Interesting... got zapped with the older MSD wire... So decided to put a new spark plug champion 404 , no more zapping, the old spark plug looks decent, a bit of rust on the body, but the porcelain is good, with no visible cracks, I cleaned it when I did the MSD wire change.... a bit stumped.... I decided to test the resistance, it test at 11Kohms.... the 2 new that I have are 152 Kohms... tested an old set of 405 from the 86 project which ranged from infinite (gasoline washed by the bad cam) I have any values in kohms of 12, 15, 22, 33 .
Any thoughts are welcome, I should probably start a new thread now!
