Hey guys new here just got my first waggy an 89 . I was wondering I need a new tcase the 229 is shot and not a 208 in sight. What all would I need to do a 241d swap. If drive shafts does anyone know of any that work also doing a 4" spring lift with 33s if that makes a difference

Just to be clear, you're talking about V10 Chevy's (1987-1991[2] Blazer/Suburban/Truck) right?
EDITed for general readership>>> In 1988(1987) Chevy carried over the C/K designation to the new IFS trucks but continued to make the old boxy straight axle trucks under the R(RWD)/V(4WD) designation for 3(4) years.

Nope. Dodge trucks ran a V10 for a couple years. I ended up with the whole drivetrain from one (they use the same trans pattern as the Cummins diesels)
Thanks for the offer to sell the cases but I'm in Ohio. Also did not all rams in the 80 and most in the 90s have the 241?. I know the 80s had them matted to the 727 like I have? Sorry not trying to sound like a smart ass I'm just trying to get this thing on the trail soon and cheap . Also off topic a soa lift do u need hy steer or a x over? Will a drop pitman alone work?
Redone, he's talking about a 241d, not a 241c. Dodge started with the v10s about 94 or 95.
Benny, with a Spring over, you'll need at least a hi steer arm to do it right. A drop pitman arm would make it drivable more than likely, but it will probably have bump steer.

Ok so if the 241 are rare what about a 242 or 231? These things are a dime a dozen round here. Do they bolt to a 727? I'm pretty sure they came in a 23 spline I know that they will require slip yoke ds
23 spline 241s are rare. 242 and 231 are 23 spline '91 and up (except most 4 cyls and pre '91 6 cyls were 21 spline except with 3 speed automatics) Each manufacturer had their own tooth count to avoid others interchanging parts. Chev ran 27 and 32 spline, Ford ran 31 spline, Dodge ran 23 or 29 spline. FSJs used 23 spline.
This all seems like a pita. Guess ill double up in the 208am search. Also and i may be wrong but if I find a 208c/d and I wanna
do a soa would it be easier and cheaper to just go out and get a 44 out of a blazer and switch it to ps drop what else would u need to do it ? Does a 208c bolt to a 727?
They are both RH drop and the Chev is weaker with a slip yoke rear. You could even (I've been told) swap the input gear from Dodge or FSJeep NP case to the Chev tcase IF it's 27 spline. 32 spline may be big front bearing like the Ford one.
