G2 one piece for AMC 20 bearing torque problems

A9 timkens installed correctly "finally" by local Napa machine shop. Long story about other guy. Things are seating good but once torqued to spec rotation is really firm, i.e not smooth. Back off torque? Wrong bearings, though that's what G2 spec. out? Pull out diff and make garden ornament out of it. This diff. Is holding up whole project. Read this morning on old thread that some back off torque until things move smoothly. Which I've attempted and works but looking for thoughts. Looking for wheels on the ground...
