Attaching old vinyl to abs

Post by Greenmachine »

Anyone find anything that works to attach our old vinyl to new abs (men in black) panels. I located a full set of panels for my Cherokee and want to apply them to the abs ones I bought.

I've found that 3M 80 vinyl and rubber adhesive works very well and holds up to the heat.
I strongly suggest using WeldWood contact cement to affix the backside flaps. Be sure to let it dry 10-15 minutes before pressing together as this will assure a solid bond.
Staples and ABS don't work very well together I discovered.
