Speaking of upside down, back in the day Dad had an engine stand that allowed for positioning the block vertical. It was low to the floor and made things much easier such as cam and bearings installation, timing gears and pistons. Never seen one like it since.

I'm just glad my old harbor freight engine stand did its job. I bought that thing probably 15 years ago? What's interesting is how much more stout(?) It is than the other stands at school (also mostly HF).
