Giddy like school girl (parts gathering)

Post by Cheapthrills »

So freaking excited, last week searching craigs list managed to find a smittybilt xrc 9.5 winch new still in box (straps not even cut yet) for $225 then a good deal on snatched a recovery kit for $30 it's generic though
Here's where I'm giddy like a preteen in heat lol.
Today I found and picked up a chevy 5.3l aluminum block complete accessories and all with full wiring harness and ecm with the fuse block harness and intake with MAF on a brand new engine stand for $900 bones. I'M JUMPING UP AND DOWN I'M GONNA PEE MYSELF....

One trick about the car/jeep hobby is to have some cash set aside and jump on good deals. (Ofcourse good friends who help you out is a better deal - AZFSJ guys, you know who you are...)

I got a good deal on some shocks just because I was watching and I have cash ready.

So good for you. These things are expensive enough without having to pay full price!

Finally figured out what my engine is exactly... it's an LC9 5.3 out of 4 door 2010 pickup... and I called the emissions referee here in Douglas County... and emissions on this project may be a b*&%# . Might throw new cam and lifters in it from Texas speed... need some dough tho. We will see.
Ecm programming is gonna cost me a chunk for this newer style ecm...

Look at buying the tuning program yourself. You might be in it for the same money and now at least you've got the tuner!

I've been contemplating that to tell you the truth.... but I wouldn't have a clue as to what I'm doing. I'm afraid I'd blow it up, that's all that's holding me back.

There are lots of good LS tuners out there. You won't have to hunt hard.

I found one near me and one of the cheapest thus far considering capability at $600. Lt1swap.com won't do anything other than stock tune for, 250?
Everyone else that can do custom tunes is $ 7-8-900 ouch and I have to ship it.
