Gotcha. For $7 each, I'll give them a try I guess. Won't take much to fab, at least to get the engine located for now.

I planned on floating the motor today, but my buddy Josh and 78 Widetrack came over today to swap some parts, and help me install the 4 inch springs instead. Looks a TON better, not like a grandma car.

Tonight we'll be hanging the motor to fab up some engine mounts. Hopefully have it the drivetrain bolted in so I can get to the wiring and adapting the controls.

Thanks Dave. Got the motor hung in place and sort of figured out what I need to do.

Today I trimmed all the "feet" of the AMC block mounts, placed the engine, and welded them to the plates on the 5.2. It's quite an ugly mount, but didn;t cost me $220 like the Novak mounts, and Look sstock.

The transfer case clearance is tight because the trans is 5 inches or so longer, and the exhaust manifolds are quite close to the heater box and booster, but it all fits nice. I'll have it welded in and sitting in 30 minutes or so. :)

Hate to comment on a old thread but did this ever get finished. I am in oregon doing the same swap and wanted to know if you have any insights. to this. i was going to use the stock motor mounts if i could. i read what rainman said about the novak adapters and the issue that he had with them.
