Yes I have 82 j10 4.2 with the t-176 trans and I was wondering what I would need to switch from the 4.2 to a 360 I can get a 79 Cherokee cheap but I wanna keep my four. Speed
Having the Cherokee beside it for parts and layout will help a lot. Things like engine mounts and the radiator core support will be different, but interchangeable.
If the Cherokee doesn't have a standard, then you'll need to figure out the spacing between the engine and transmission to get the shifters in the right spots. The 6 is a lot longer than the 8.
Yea I tried it a few years ago and ran into that spacing problem. Is there any help y'all could give my other question would I need a adapter to go from 79 Cherokee trans to my tcase
The '79 if a auto has a TH400, no easy way to adapt a round pattern NP case to it. If its a manual, it's even harder to adapt. 1980 was the change over for passenger drop to driver drop.
