Well I got the new rebuilt Steering column in and now when the Battery is hooked up the front and rear parking lights stay on and will not turn off unless I disconnect the battery. Where do you think I should start first for a solution. Thanks,Barry
yes I forgot to say I checked the light switch and turned it both ways but it has no effect on the parking lights unless the switch could be bad, any thoughts
Yeah a few question would sure clear some stuff up?
What model do you have?
What model steering column do you have?
Brake lights & turn signals still work?
More information or this info in your sig really helps.

MSD complete system
Eddy intake
Holley 650
Comp cam 270H
4" Rusty's
Ramsey 12K winch

Built to drive not sit in the garage.
No longer strangled. I didn't build it for anyone else.
If you can't improve it why waste your time?

I was searching this forum for answers, but it appears a solution was found before my similar issue was solved.
My issue: Parking lights stay on.
Model:
1982 Jeep Cherokee Wide Track
258 cid engine, T5 manual transmission
Standard, non-tilt steering column
Various upgrades, none relevant to this issue.....
The parking lights will pull the battery down to 0 if I allow it, so the battery is disconnected.
Recently I was troubleshooting my radio because it had lost power, and the power to activate the radio (as opposed to continuous power) was tied into one of the yellow lines which terminated into one of the numerous unused plugs under the dash. I suppose these plugs are for attaching additional equipment, and most have an orange and black wire. This one plug has both orange and yellow wires plus the black wire. Unfortunately, a slight tug on the wire removed it and its terminating end from the plug. The yellow wire in this plug is apparently connected to "Accessory On" power on the key switch and steering column.
A slight tug on the wire and many lights came on, such as the light for my column mounted tachometer and others. Thus my question is the yellow wires and their intermittent connection related to the parking lights problem? That's what has changed to possibly cause this problem.
