So new guy here at least to Wagoneers! And I have had it for about a week. And it’s currently getting the steering column worked on. In the meantime I have a couple questions. First has anybody done a body lift on one of these. Second how do the axles lock, is it electric or air and what fluid goes in the transfer case?

Axles lock? You mean differentials? They don't. My '84 used vacuum to engage the front.
I made 1" aluminum spacers when I put in the new body mounts. I wouldn't do much more than that.

Body lifts aren't common but some have them and can talk about them better than me.
The way to lock the axles is to buy locking differentials and have them installed. Of you're asking about how you put it in 4WD, it's the switch on the dash. But the high range doesn't lock. It's all wheel drive like a car. You have to shift into 4 low to lock the t-case. That's the lever on the transmission tunnel by the driver's seat.

With you having an ‘86, you could have a NP228 or a NP229. Both are lock in low range. In high the 228 has an open center diff, the 229 has a viscous coupler.

From the factory they were open, some of the axles did have rear limited slip using clutches. If yours came with these they are probably worn out by now.
Welcome to the board! I think you will like it here. Great folks.
