Yea I can easily fit my fingers between the pan and the block, with some wiggle room, the full length of the pan. I spent about an hour this morning shifting it around every which way i could.will e wrote:So you have some kind of gap between the pan and the block? I'm pretty sure I know which plate your talking about. I thought about removing that, but I wasn't sure how far up it went or where all the bolts are that hold that in place.letank wrote:try to temove the access plate to the torque converter, it is a 2 piece item, may be something is bent.

no need to remove oil pan to access the oil pump plate. But you will have to pack the oil pump gears with petroleum jelly to help with the oil pump priming, otherwise no oil pressure.MReno wrote:Out of curiosity, this removal of the oil pan needed to rebuild the oil pump system?
