Wiper problem

Post by r_torres »

The wipers don't park right. They work at all speeds but not park. I replaced the 2-speed wiper switch same result. I got an intermittent wiper switch with module doesn't fix the problem. The wipers stay up. Any ideas? Image

The park feature is built into the motor.

Yeah, there's an internal switch that opens when the wipers are down.

With the motor unplugged:

If the later 4 wire plug, the Blk to Red should have continuity in the unparked position. This is across the internal switch.

The early motor should have continuity between Term 1 on the motor and ground when unparked. Term 1 seems to be second from the left when looking at the connector. I'm going by figures from the manual on oljeep.com on this one.

Try this. Turn them off then disconnect arm mechanism from motor. Move wipers to idle position and refasten.

I am betting the switch inside the motor is stuck, so it always thinks its in park position.

What I was figuring was the motor was replaced but assembled before returning to park position.

Hi . I had the same problem when I put my jeep back together . All I did was move bellcrank on wiper motor 180 degrees and all fixed.
