New to FSJ

Post by Pachyderm »

Hello. I have just purchased a 1973 J4500 that’s already had a lot of restoration started. One glaring problem is that the bell housing inspection plate and screws are missing. Lost by the PO. I can’t find a source to replace. Any suggestions on where in Alabama or Mississippi I could find? Internet has been searched.

Should be the same across all Jeep vehicles with manual transmission in that year. Jeep PN 3213744. Available lots of places, just search for the number online. Example - https://www.morris4x4center.com/bellhou ... 13744.html Nothing special about the bolts - likely 1/4"-20 cap screws - get them from the hardware store.

Looks solid! Welcome from Boston.

Two Jeep factory parts books say 3213744 is right. Original engine and transmission? If so, it's either the part or you're not fitting it right.

Thanks. I didn't have the part number and was just relying on their website fitment. I ordered it. Thanks again!

NP! Aftermarket parts listings for these Jeeps are rife with errors. There is a J-series parts book online at http://oljeep.com/edge_parts_man.html Do not trust the aftermarket listings. Look up the factory part number and search using that. If you need help with the book, post up.

You can always make your own. Get some aluminum plating from lowes.. some metal sheers and cut to fit drill holes and screw it on
