Q-trac reduction unit trouble

Post by mjdriver »

Hi guys my truck came without the reduction unit, i bought one of ebay and have the case installed in the jeep but can't seem to get the reduction unit to slide all the way on. It will get about an inch away from seating then gets really difficult to move on or off. I have to use a pair of pry bars to get it off. It seems to be getting stuck on the trans output shaft, i cleaned and greased the splines. As far as i know it should just bolt on. I think i could get it to go with a few taps from a hammer but don't really want to force anything.

Oh forgot to mention i installed the basket thing on the case imput like it says in the manual.

Maybe some Pics? I'm not sure what basket thing you are referring to. When I replaced mine it was a real pain to get up there but it slid on pretty easy.
