So I recently picked up what I believe to be a 77 J10 with the 360. The gas tank was pulled years ago due to leaking. I was thinking of just getting the poly tank but I'm confused on what to order. They list a ton of tanks, straps, and rubber fill necks. Any recommendations on what I need to order?
Here is the said Jeep, love these old trucks, I'm really excited to get this thing up and running from its 10 year slumber.
The only part that will be missing on a 49-states truck is the vapor recovery stuff: the check valve and its hoses. You'll need everthing else.
Later - looks like you have some of the pieces per your video. It's a '78, not a '77, but most bits of the '77 TSM will be correct. It's a '77-style tank. Bed rust in that location is typical for these trucks. The double-walled bed traps moisture between in that location.
You aren't going to be very popular around here if you try to wreck it.

daredevils, eh, did not try to prime the oil pump... which has to be done manually, turn crank by hand 1/4 and repeat for 2 turns... then you can crank it, good to be done when the engine has not been started over 5 to 10 years...

It was just a joke about wrecking it. No way am I spending all this money to wreck it haha. Thanks for the tips and the diagram. What makes you think its a 78?
A "J8..." VIN number is definitively a 1978 model. Comments to your video say it's a '78 due to the VIN number. Model changeover started in the summer, so a build date of July-August or later is part of the following model year. Comments on YouTube are not correct?
Sorry - looks like the comment was giving an example and not referring to your truck speifically. Truck looks like a '77.
