Radiator overflow tubing

Post by 89er »

So my radiator overflow nipple points to the passenger side but the overflow reservoir is on the driver side so it had a long tube connecting them but I shut the hood on it and nearly cut it in half the other day.

The "radiator overflow tubing" I could find was sold at oreillys and it is only 2 feet long so it just barely reaches and doesn't go near far enough into the reservoir.

So I went to autozone and they sold me some very similar 3 feet of windshield wiper tubing. Will this tubing work or will the antifreeze just destroy it or disintegrate it?

I'd suggest the clear vinyl tubing from the hardware store. It's mostly used to pipe condensate water away from air conditioners and such. Works fine.

Autozone also sells the black plastic/rubber lines by the foot, comes in 5/16", 3/8", etc. It is pretty affordable and lets you by a long run and trim to what you need.
