'77 J10 w/401 vacuum line diagram

Post by 51hank »

Does anybody have an accurate 401 vacuum line diagram? I have searched many and cant seem to find one specific to the Jeep J10 w/401. Also, mine does not seem to have a charcoal canister and I know there is some debate as to when these were installed and on what years. Mine has no apparent placement showing one was ever installed.
Any advice would be appreciated as the PO left most of the vac lines disconnected or plugged. I'm amazed it runs at all.

Do you have the TSM? Looks like it's available for download at the Tom Collins site. http://oljeep.com/edge_parts_man.html

Too large to download here from work... there may not be a diagram in the manual like you want - diagrams did not appear until ca 1980 IIRC. The vacuum plumbing was pretty simple in the '70s, and plumbing for each device will be shown in the section dedicated to that device in the emissions chapter. There is a chart at the end of the emissions chaptr that tells you what devices should be present, based on model, region and equipment. Sorry, I expect they aren't going to hand it to you on a platter.

FYI, my '77 with a 258 came with no vapor recovery (canister). IIRC this is only correct for 49 states, not California. CHeck the chart.
