I thought it was to have one to drive while you work on the other!

That never works. The one gets jealous that you're spending time and money on the other so it breaks to get some attention, too.

If you replace one of the connecting rods, do you replace all of them? I read different things, curious what your shop recommends. I'm not far behind you on a similar engine rebuild.... thanks!

If your other rods are in good shape, they can be cleaned up, resized, etc., and reused. They should all (new and old) be weight matched, though.

Good to hear you have that 360 up and running! I noticed that you're in the same town my folks grew up in. I also went to school down there and know the NB area fairly well. I'm curious, did you use a local machine shop? I remember one that's in northern New Bedford, maybe it's called Ray's (?) that a friend used for his old BMW's head...but I never had the shop do any work on anything of mine.

That's cool! Always good to know of shops that aren't afraid of AMC...I mean, it's a Chryco year but still AMC 360 block.

Hey . Twisted frame I have a garage loaded to the gills with fsj parts and would like you to spread the word in your area .hoods.bumpers.grills .brushgaurd. need room .TY
It is broke in now drain water . Water was a mess brown and dirty glad I did it this way . Removed block drain plugs and had to stick small screw driver to clear drain then nasty stuff came out on each side . 1 drain will only do half the motor you must remove both to drain block empty . . 1 more step done . Drove around the block today sitting on a milk crate because I am fixing very big holes in floor . I am trying to save this one ....

I'll certainly do what I can. I just wish I knew more FSJ folks up here near Boston! My folks go boating out of New Bedford harbor in the summer so I'm down that way here and there. If I'm in need of anything around then, I'll contact you.
