I have 1976 J20. I am going to redo the interior and add shoulder belts to the truck. I have ordered the belts and have them in hand.
I am not sure of when shoulder belts were available, but since I have "buttons" in the factory holes of my B pillar where seat belts would attach I am guessing it was an option in 1976. My issue came to light when I pulled the buttons off and went to attach the bolt for the should mount. There is nothing there to attached the shoulder belt anchor point. I expected that Jeep would put the structure in for shoulder belts and then just option if you wanted the belt or not. In my case that was not true.
So I have two questions.
1) Is this unique to my model year or just my truck.
2) I cannot locate access to the back side where the nut and/or seat belt anchor point would go. It appears that hole is surrounded my metal that can' be accessed. Has anybody had success in doing this? What did you do? I am trying to avoid cutting into the face of the pillar.
thanks
