Quadratrac popping out of low range

Post by Nikkormat »

Howdy folks, playing with a new project (which I will post more details about later) and I've run into a problem with the Quadratrac.

Under stress (namely 4 wheeling) the Quadratrac is popping out of low range into nuetral. This Jeep is equipped with the cable shifter and is a bit of a pain to shift. Once it's in low it will stay that way until you get tires bound up on an obstacle. Once you load it up to much it loudly pops out of gear. If you hold the shifter out it will stay in gear.

What am I dealing with here? A shifter problem? An internal problem?

I found the tranny mount as the culprit for this problem once.
