What Carb is This?

Post by Tio Pancho »

Need to rebuild this carb, but I don't know what rebuild kit to order. Carb says motorcraft, but there are no other number stamped on it or a metal tag to identify.
Thanks in advance. :fsj:

It's a good idea to put the year / model / equipment of your Jeep in every post. Most of us have this info in our sig, so it's automatically posted.

I recall this is a '77 Cherokee with an automatic. This is tag number 6THA4 49 states or 6THA4C for California. You should get the TSM for your year - that would tell you about the carburetor. The '77 TSM is available FREE for reading and download at the Tom Collins site. No excuses for not having the TSM and referring to it. http://oljeep.com/edge_parts_man.html

Let me recommend Echlin CRB 25617 kit at NAPA...

I have tried cheaper brands and was not fully satisfied.

I have also heard the CK-137 is a good kit...

Thanks guys. I will update my profile to include the vehicle info an/or include it in the post. Wish I had sen this earlier. Found a kit with a bit of homework by the guy at the counter. Ended up with a Hygrade 910C kit. Hopefully it’s the right one.
Thanks again
