CVR

Post by Bruduf »

I finally broke down and purchased the TSM it led me step by step for my oil pressure, and fuel gauge fix. It looks like I need the CVR I am guessing it's a resistor but could not find exactly what it is or where to buy one. I have a 1984 J10 360 with 727 auto and cold air conditioner. I have fixed the fuel tank leak with a new vent/ rollover gasket on top of the tank. Rebuilt carb and put the vacuum lines back in order. I think the biggest problem was someone had the power valve vacuum supply line blocked off so it was running really rich and getting 7 mpg!!!!! Also the PO put on tires that are too big and rub the rear fenders if I have any weight in the bed, springs also look to be sagging. Planning on replacing the tires and maybe find some stock rims an hubcaps. Thanks to the folks who helped me

It is a mechanical voltage regulator, vibrating contacts open and closed to average about 5 volts. I suggest you use a 7805 or 7806 integrated circuit to replace it. This has been covered many times in previous threads here and at IFSJA.

It is integral to the coolant gauge. If you want plug & play, need replace gauge. If comfortable with rolling your own solution modify & replace as posted above.
