Normally the narrower side go to the front, to rotate the pinion up. However, that also messes your shock mounts up more. Really, I think you could go with 2" blocks that have no taper at all and be ok. While the axle does move back some, the pinion will also point down as the suspension compresses. I just think the guy at the factory welded them too far under. Is the locating pin in the springs off center and are they on backwards? Sorry if this was already discussed. I didn't look back.
Edit: Oops, I see the title of the thread asks that question. Did you measure the location of the pin?
