Help finding axle seal

Post by Hendo2.5 »

Does anyone know where I can find the parts that make up this seal between the axle and spindle? I'm having trouble finding the right stuff. I need the 4 pieces from the metal seal seat in the back to the rubber washer in the front. I've attached a picture. Thanks

I purchased the spindle bearing kit from BJ's which included the seals and spacers. All for the princely sum of $12 plus shipping.

sorry - another question. Does anyone know what the outer axle tube seal looks like? I'm finding parts that range from $4 to $45.
Thanks

Sadly I no longer have the photos that I used to have, most likely buried on some drive some place. I assume you have disc brakes up front, as I KNOW the seals are different for drum vs disc.

But you should be able to buy a complete spindle seal kit. Something like this: https://www.4wheelparts.com/Drivetrain- ... 2fS706527X

Just pointing out...

The TSM is over here in 2F-11: http://oljeep.com/gw/79_tsm/79_Jeep_TSM.pdf

The the back washer (with beveled hole) on the stub shaft is bronze on a lot of the 70s models. Replacements are made of a plastic/teflon material.

thanks- I have the spindle kit. its the one on the end of the axle tube that I am wondering about. I'm not ever sure if there is supposed to be one based on what I read its an aftermarket thing. There does appear to be a seat for one on the lip of the tube though.

Are you talking about the tube on the axle housing? If so, I think you are talking about the seals on each side of the carrier. The axle tubes are dry on the open knuckle design. The 79 TSM does not show this detail.
