Oil system / flow diagram

Post by weeegoneeer »

Hey there!

Anyone have an oil system / flow diagram? Mostly curious to know if oil pressure is read before the filter, or after the filter. Guessing after?

Anyway, would be interesting to see if anyone has it!

Thanks,

Have you looked at the TSM? There is a diagram and description there.

BUSTED! Didn't obey my own rule - CHECK THE TSM FIRST!

Sometimes the info is right there, sometimes as in the case of mine for an '84 it's not (like a complete wiring diagram for my year).

The sender / pressure switch isn't shown in the oil path, BUT - looks like the flow is directly from the sump into the filter, then into the rest of the motor (including running past the oil sender). Is that a correct assumption?

Here's the image of the page from the TSM here in case anyone else is searching in the future: Image

Thanks guys!
