Oil on exhaust manifold bolt

Post by eblanks »

Hey, I'm replacing the left side exhaust manifold due to a crack that is leaking exhaust gas. I got the manifold off last night and noticed that one of the bolts has a nice coating of oil on it. I inspected the manifold and it appeared to be clean and as best I could I looked at the exhaust port closest to the bolt and it also seemed pretty clean. All other bolts were dry so this leads me to believe I might have a leak. Anyone experience this and know the cause and solution.

Thanks

Which bolt? the PS, or middle next the dipstick or rear collecting oil from a leaky valve cover seal?
