O'Reilly starter bendix grenaded causing this...Image

Looks like I'll be moving forward with my manual swap sooner than I wanted.

All this after ordering $1800 in suspension parts...ungrateful pig...sigh.

How does a starter break the frame?

Crazy...

Not so sure the starter caused that. If it was the starter, I would expect the damage to be around the starter mounting spots, not half back the bell housing.

Its actually plausible that the crack caused some stress on flex plate and made the starter bind up. Would be interested in some more photos.

Agreed something bad has happened inside the bellhousing

Fragments from the bendix got wedged between the bell and torque converter. The bell housing lost.
