What's this strap for?
Looks to be factory since the screws are painted body color and the strap matches, but not sure what it could be used for...
1981 Cherokee 2-door -- 360 V8 -- T-176 -- NP-208 -- Dana 44 + AMC 20 -- Narrow track, base model

It holds the back seat in the upright position when folded up.
