Early steering column assembly

Post by 1969 dream wagon »

How do I get the column sleeve that houses the directional switch and hazard switch bolted back up to the automatic shifter sleeve ? Any pics would help. It's a 1969

There should be two square headed 1/4" bolts that slip into the shifter housing. One on each side. Only the edge of the head is captured by the shifter housing. They fit into a notch if I recall correctly. I usually tape mine to hold them in place. The bolts pass through the hazard switch housing and use a couple of nuts to hold the two pieces together.

Thanks! I see how it works now, how the heck did they assemble this without tape. Or adhesive?
